$46 shipping. Being an American Tolkien fan is pure suffering.

I think postage costs are becoming a real issue for collecting books from countries outside the one you live in.

It's not just the S&H. It's the VAT on top of what's now expensive media.

The only saving grace this entire year getting anything out of Europe has been the Dollars climb towards parity with the Pound and Euro.

I got that Canadian box set that was listed a few pages back from Canada. The shipping wasn't THAT bad, and I think it was worth it for that beautiful slip case and books. But largely, yeah, I don't even bother.
