Yup there is certainly a healthy fan-fiction community, this is too pricey for most of them though.
I've read these and thought very little of them. Not something I would ever return to but each to their own. Others will find this interesting.

It is a collector who bought this I bet, rather than a fan-fiction follower. They had probably been looking for a long time for them.

Admittedly it's a personal (i.e. subjective) thing, but I can see meaningful value in a book in this state, even without a DJ, as the tear is only on the front free end paper. And if you carefully excised the FFEP, there wouldn't be a tear at all

You beat me to it Predictable Matt Yes "travesty" is not the word I would use for this volume at this starting price point.
