Arthur Tolkien writing to his parents sends the delightful news of his second son, Hilary's birth. He talks at length of Mabel's recovery which he says is remarkable and describes Mabel as a marvel.
He had been in Cape Town, some 750 miles south on bank business so has been very busy. He says he has had no time to write to his sisters but asks that his love to be passed on. He includes a note on Hilary's birth and asks that Tom H. Post them in the Post, Edwardian, Gazette, and Mercury papers and to charge them to him.
He must write other letters this day so must now sign off.
