Following Tolkien's letter of 11 May Letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Joy Hill • 11 May 1962 (#1231)[1] he sends Joy Hill a corrected introduction to The Adventures of Tom Bombadil along with corrections for some of the poems. He says that writing a blurb makes his heart sink, but he encloses a note of around 100 words. He also encloses ackowledgment of a cheque and his latest accounts. Allen & Unwin would later make a note to use that signature for English and Medieval Studies Presented to J.R.R. Tolkien.
