Arthur Tolkien writes to his father, John Benjamin Tolkien, informing him of life for his family in Bloemfontein, Orange Free State.Established as South Africa in 1910.[1] He mentions the coming Easter weekend and that he will play golf and the family will have a picnic close to the links (golf course). Hilary will be Christened tomorrow (Easter Day 1894) and will be named Hilary Arthur Tolkien. They have a "splendid" nurse at home and he is not especially busy at work.
He has resigned from the cathedral choir to spend more time with Mabel and the boys.
