Writing to Tolkien, G.B. Smith confirms he is now with the 19th Battalion of the Lancashire Fusiliers. They are stationed at the grand Hotel, Penmeanmawr, Wales but only for a short time. He asks Tolkien if he can send his copy of Welsh grammar along with Georgian Poetry.

He asks Tolkien to show his verse to the editor of the book, Oxford Poetry 1915.

The edition for 1915 would include Tolkien's own poem 'Goblin Feet' and Smith's poem 'Songs on the Downs' among others including E. Graham Sutton, and most notably Naomi M. Mitchison under her maiden name Haldane.
