TCG Letter #129

Writing to a young fan, Rosemary, Tolkien says he is yet to finish his new book about Bilbo and his nephew. . He worries that it is so long that the publishers may not be able to find paper for it. He has written another story, not concerning Hobbits but he says it does have another dragon. Bilbo's role in the adventures will be smaller, given that he is 111 years old, but the magic ring is more important than Bilbo knew.

Tolkien goes on further about his new work, mentioning Sam Gamgee the gardener, Gandalf, Gollum, Dwarves, Elves and Ents, but no dragons.
