Tolkien writes to Rayner, he has been struggling with ill-health through the term and only recently has he been able to deal with “many strands” of business.
C.S. Lewis says he is keen to help with the Lord of the Rings and Tolkien offers some other names who may be willing to read and report on the first volume.
He asks Rayner if he has any more proofs and says he could use one more.
