Rayner agrees with Tolkien that future translations should adopt the names as Tolkien prefers. Rayner says that Allen & Unwin can have an index of names produced for him if it is something he would find useful.
He notes his interest in the Silmarillion manuscripts that he is reading.
He has enclosed a letter he has received from Forrest J. Ackerman, for Tolkien's attention. He asks for Tolkien's approval of his reply. It says that Tolkien will be willing to offer advice on broad issues of the adaptation and offer solutions to areas he objects to. He notes though that if Tolkien agrees, it will take up some of his time.
He closes asking Tolkien if he has decided to visit Holland.
