Writing to a fan, Tolkien says that he has no time to explain things concerning his writing at this time, noting that it is the beginning of term. But then goes on to mention that the "history of events before" the Lord of the Rings were already written.
He says that the two other wizards do not feature.the blue wizards[1] Tolkien then notes that Elvish songs are not intended to relate exactly to English words. He gives some translations and goes on to mention Sam's prayer in Elvish, which he gives an English translation of.
He says that he cannot loan out his index and that making a copy would require great labour.
