Cin Calabi of Arnoldo Mondadori writes to George Allen & Unwin asking if they could have more time to consider The Lord of the Rings as holidays, etc have slowed them down in making a decision. They ask if they can have until the end of September to decide on whether they will move forward with a translation and publication of the book. Alina Dadlez will reply Letter from Alina Dadlez (for GA&U) to Miss Calabi (Arnoldo Mondadori Editore) • 17 August 1962 (#1782)[1] that the end of September is fine and asks if they could also consider the Hobbit at that time.
