Cin Calabi of Arnoldo Mondadori writes to George Allen & Unwin asking if they could have more time to consider The Lord of the Rings as holidays, etc have slowed them down in making a decision. They ask if they can have until the end of September to decide on whether they will move forward with a translation and publication of the book.
