Charles Williams, writing to his wife, says that Tolkien and Lewis are taking him to the Divinity School at Oxford tomorrow.
Note that Wayne Hammond and Christina Scull give the date as 29 January. They are due to arrive at 10.45am and he notes that "Lewis and Tolkien will put on their gowns" and escort Williams to the Divinity School. He will drink sherry in the bar of the Mitre Hotel laer that day with Lewis, Tolkien, and Gerald Hopkins from Oxford University Press.
