TCG Letter #1802

During the autumn of 1935, the Early English Text Society invited Tolkien to prepare an edition of the Ancrene Riwle (MS CCCC402). Tolkien will reply ^{Letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Early English Text Society • Autumn 1935 (#1803)[1]} that he is interested but that he will need to enlist the assistance of Elaine Griffiths to help. Tolkien is asked to pen a letter of interest by the end of the year.
