Tolkien to Susan Dagnall • 1 October 1937 (#2092)[1]} offering more information on the proposed book, The Loom of Language that has been proposed to GA&U. It had been mentioned at a weekend party by one of their authors, and the synopsis was passed onto GA&U.

Hammond/Scull make a note in Chronology that the book, The Loom of Language: A Guide to Foreign Languages for the Home Student will be published in 1943, by Frederick Bodmer.^{Chronology, p. 844[2]}
