C.A. Furth writes to Tolkien on matters of publishing. He says that the next book they will have to publish is Mr. Bliss, but they have missed the window for Christmas 1938 and GA&U will ask Tolkien for the manuscript in spring 1939.^{As it happened, the book would not be published in Tolkien's lifetime and would be postumously published in 1982.[1]}
