To
Joy Hill
Date
28 August 1968
Type

Transcript

Writing to Joy Hill Tolkien says he has "lots of things" to send her, but he is having to deal with his books, currently in "48 crates". He has not found his papers and files. He remarks that he has "miscalculated the required book space" and will need to get rid of many of his books.
He notes that he hopes Joy has a "real holiday" and mentions a Miss Jackson and her project which he calls obtuse. He encloses a "scribbled comment" with her letter, which is enclosed.
He closes with a remark that he is very tired.
