Tolkien writes to Tom, a reader who had sent him a letter of appreciation. He has no time for a longer reply as regretfully he is too busy dealing with business matters, especially those related to his continued issues with ACE Books who had issued an unauthorised version of The Lord of the Rings. Which, as Tolkien notes, he was receiving no royalties for, a matter which would later be resolved when an agreement was made between Donald A. Wollheim's ACE Books and Tolkien.See Letter from J.R.R.
