Tolkien replies to Cees Ouboter of Holland regarding Edith's health along with relaying arrangements for his visit to Amsterdam via London and Rotterdam. He mentions that he has "received (not without astonishment)" as much "praise as is good" for him. He then thanks Cees Ouboter for his enthusiasm about The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien also comments on a programme he has received and vents about the book review of A. Marja in the NRC of 15th March.
