TCG Letter #715

From
J.R.R. Tolkien
To
William McCullam
Date
9 December 1965
Type
Unknown
Transcript
Partial
Tolkien writes a letter thanking William McCullam who had included a 'royalty' for The Lord of the Rings. It is assumed McCullam had purchased a copy of the pirated ACE Books editions and had read an article about the situation.

Tolkien also gives some details on Elvish grammar, noting that "grey is mithren, and mithrin is plural." He says that McCullam can use names or words from Tolkien's books as he "desires".
