Tolkien writes to Kilby and mentions the book A Mind Awake: An Anothology of C. S. Lewis. He says that it reminded him of good things spread throughout Lewis's work, but that often his work is lost on people as they are taken out of context. He briefly mentions personal matters and goes on to discuss his manuscripts that Wheaton College have offered to buy from him. He is advised to not sell them at present. He concludes that the latest UK budget has made his financial position more difficult.
