Jocelyn Gibb requested any letters from C. S. Lewis that could be included in a forthcoming volume. Tolkien exchanged few letters with C. S. Lewis, as they saw each other in person quite often.
This letter is held at the Wade.
Jocelyn Gibb replied two days later and this letter is also held at the Wade.While this and other letters from Tolkien to Gibb are listed as being held at the Wade, a note from the Bodleian in private correspondence notes the following: "Correspondence with Jocelyn Gibb at Geoffrey Bles, publisher, 1964, Dep. c. 773, fols. 34, 38, 49, 202, 388, 396-7. Papers of C.S. Lewis. Deposited in the library, 1974."[1]
