Tolkien writes thanking Donald Swann for the tickets to a performance on 18 September. He notes that Priscilla cannot attend but he has asked Dr. Robert Havard (the Inklings) along in her place.^{Tolkien, Edith, and Dr. Havard see the performance on 18 September and meet the performers backstage afterwards.[1]}
