Tolkien writes to Stanley Unwin with regard to his visit of Merton College's estates in Cambridge, Leicestershire, and Lincolnshire between 22 and 25 September.
In the brief outtake included in the 2023 revised edition of Letters, Tolkien discusses his prior interaction with Rayner, and hopes that Rayner will enjoy the next packet (Lord of the Rings draft material for Book II).
Hammond's Bibliography mentions that Tolkien noted two additional errors in the text of The Hobbit in this letter.
