Tolkien informs Rayner that by way of looking at the "Scunthorpe lists"This reference is thought to be connected to a list that a librarian from Scunthorpe produced. Rayner Unwin had forwarded to Tolkien various lists of names, places, and words found in The Lord of the Rings.[1] he has also continued work on The Silmarillion, and can say that it is in an active working phase. He also states that his new secretary has been very helpful with this. While this letter is newly published under the covers of Tolkien's letters, it has been published previous in Chronology, p. 584.[2]
