Wiseman writes a follow-up letter to his telegram ^{Letter from Christopher Wiseman to J.R.R. Tolkien • 14 April 1917 (#1585)[1]} , he is on leave and will visit Tolkien and Edith on 18 April.^{Chronology, p. 107[2]}

Tolkien had replied with a telegram saying that he has to report for duty on 19 April.
