In reply to Tolkien's letter, ^{Letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Walter Monckton • 1 March 1957 (#1653)[1]} Monckton writes to confirm that dates except one are good for him. He no longer works within the givernment so should be able to attend more of these club dinners.
