Noted in their letter to Tolkien of 1 June 1937, ^{Letter from C.A. Furth (GA&U) to J.R.R. Tolkien • 1 June 1937 (#1919)[1]} C. A. Furth says that they have written to Houghton Mifflin in regard of Tolkien's letter to them of 28 May 1937. ^{Letter from J.R.R. Tolkien to Allen & Unwin • 28 May 1937 (#475)[2]} He also says that they have sent three copies of Tolkien's Silmarillion drawings.^{We do not know if these illustrations were sent under different cover or with this letter, and include the details here rather than in a second entry.[3]}
