TCG Letter #2289

Tolkien writes to the Swedish scholar Helge Kökeritz, at Yale, USA, to invite him to give two lectures at Oxford.^{Noted by Hammond & Scull in Chronology, p. 390 and mentioned in Lars Burman's blog post, see refs[1]} Tolkien was concerned about the payment for the appearance.

Hammond & Scull note in an entry for 1 December 1950 that Helge Kökeritz would be happy to lecture if he returns to Oxford in the future.^{Chronology, p. 392[2]}
