Tolkien confirms that he will visit Boar's Hill on the Saturday. Tolkien is pleased as he was furnished with a copy of the Oxford English Dictionary by someone. Tolkien asks about qualifying for a supplement but that Sisam can explain on Saturday.
He has been reading N.R. Ker's thesis,A Study of the Additions and Alterations in MSS Bodley 340 and 342. Tolkien and Sisam will examine this viva voca on 21 March at the Examining School.[1] which he has found hard going.
