The J.R.R. Tolkien Centenary Conference was held at Keble College, Oxford, England, from August 17-24, 1992, to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Professor J.R.R. Tolkien. The conference was co-sponsored by the British Tolkien Society and the Mythopoeic Society, and incorporated the annual conferences (Mythcon XXIII and Oxonmoot 1992) usually held separately by these organizations. The volume collects essays on J. R. R. Tolkien and his works as well as essays on other mythopoeic authors. Features sixty-one papers from the 1992 conference presented in eleven sections covering all aspects of J R R Tolkien's life and works.
