This version of the Silmarillion - Original UK edition 1977 - was for promotional purposes only. It was available ONLY to bookstores that ordered a specific number of copies so they could show prospective customers what it was like. It was a pre-sale version. It has the beginning of the book but stops after page 32. The rest of the book has the same number of pages as a regular copy but after page 32 they are all blank. I had a bookstore at that time and we specialized in SF so we ended up with a copy. I don't know how many copies were printed but it would have been very small. It has been in my library since 1977.
