You are bidding on a set of hardbound books, J. R. R. Tolkien, first American edition. The Fellowship of the Ring is printed in Great Britain by George Allen and Unwin Ltd, but all list Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston as the publisher. The Two Towers, The Fellowship of the Ring, and The Return of the King (11th, 12 and 13th imprints, respectively), from 1961 and 1962. Each has a pristine fold out map on the rear cover. The dust jackets are in fine condition, with one small tear on the spine of The Two Towers (see pictures), otherwise clean and unmarked. Faint library odor, from a non smoking house. Penciled price and small tape stains on the fly leaf of The Fellowship of the Ring, otherwise all clean. Vintage item sold as is with no return. Each book is 6 inch wide by 9 inch high dimensions. Shipping will be insured, $25 book rate in CONUS.
