A very clean copy of The Hobbit, the second American edition, 14th printing overall, as indicated by the green hue of the boards. The American 2nd edition printings did not have printing stated and are identified by the measurements and board coloring. I have included a snapshot of the printing boards from Wikipedia as well. Houghton Mifflin ordered the pages from Alan Unwin in the UK and bound them into their own boards, thus (fun fact!) why the pages indicate that they were printed in Great Britain. There were only 4000 copies made of the 14th US Impression, (in the entire world!!) before the book became mass produced, starting with the third edition. Making this quite a gem given the rarity and the great condition of the book! The pages are clean, the illustrations are nice and neat and overall it’s a very nice copy of this book!
