A beautiful unmarked set bound in blue cloth with the JRRT monogram stamped in silver to the front boards of the books. No previous owners names or markings, not price clipped, in extraordinary condition. All original illustrations by Alan Lee throughout. An exceptional set of books - only 1 printing ever made ! All unread, only a little wear and tear and slight discolouration to original slip covers from storage. Comes complete with 5 original collectors postcards all featuring the original artwork from Alan Lee. Book 3 has slightly come away from spine ( see photo ) but in one piece and could be easily rectified. I’m too scared to touch it !! Is missing original slip case - but price is reflective of this. I have only seen this edition on market once, for $600 US ( roughly $900 Australian ) and it had slipcase, but the postcards were missing from it !
