This rare deluxe boxed set of "The Lord of the Rings" by J.R.R. Tolkien is a must-have for any fantasy or mythical collector. Published by George Allen & Unwin in 1963, this edition is a rare find that transports readers to the magical world of Middle Earth. The set includes all three volumes of the trilogy, each one carefully crafted with exquisite details and stunning illustrations. The books are first editions, the printings are 13,10,10 and all appear to have never been read. The Two Towers cover is lighter than the other two which seems to be relatively common and the spines of all three are all somewhat faded from exposure to light. The pages are near perfect with no markings, tears, or bends, the silk page markers are intact, and the maps appear to have never been opened. The extremely rare Slipcase with Pauline Baynes artwork is in fair condition for its age and considering that it has been half way around the world.
