Unique binding featuring calfskin leather and Fancy Paper Company paper end papers and a slipcase by George Bayntun, the famous bookbinder. This first edition second impression includes all illustrations and is in excellent condition having been very well looked after. The original pictorial end papers in the form of maps are laid down to the rear of the book. The book comes with a Bayntun book care slip and a custom slipcase, covered with FPC paper. Elegant in its simplicity, this classic style of binding was synonymous with George Banytun, whose “Bayntun Riviere” stamp can be found on the rear margin.
