John F. R. Tolkien's copy with his ownership inscription on the front endpaper. John was the eldest son of Edith and J. R. R. Tolkien, the author of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. A nice association copy. No 959 of Everyman's Library. A very good copy - The cloth covers are faded to the spine with some light rubbing around the edges. Some small creases to the edges of a few pages but they are all clean without any notes or underlining. Binding is strong. Dustwrapper is toned to the spine with a few small tears and chips to the top of the spine.
