art on tolkiens birthday

Like it a lot Wish I could paint...

when its finished i will make a handfull of prints. i contacted pieter from tolkien library and told him i would send him a bunch to give out amongst the tolkien collectors he knows. i had alot of fun painting it and listening to the bbc adio books as i worked on it.

thanks for any interest guys i will not be selling prints as i made this painting for enjoyment. I have a good printer that is very reasonable in price and will be making 20 signed numbered prints.

I think one of my favourite parts of tolkiens writting is the generous nature and kindness of his characters.

so keeping that in mind and with it being the old boys birthday recently it hardly seems fair to try and make a quick buck

about 5 of the prints have already gone.

once the prints are done i will post on the forum and take a few addresses of those interested
