First plate edition, this limited edition is number 143 of the first 1000 copies off the press of the first edition of the Silmarillion. Hardback with slip-in presentation sleeve. Bound in red covers with gilt titles to spine and monogram. Fine.

The book and cover is in excellent condition. The dust cover has small minor pen marks. The book has no evident damage or repairs, no tears and no foxing. The map at the back has been folded back slightly incorrectly but still fits the parameters of the book. The gilt-edging is still in very good condition.
