Does anybody have any recent news about Volume 20? Last I could find was David Bratman's comment from late february at the linked blog post. It is not listed on Project MUSE yet and at Duke University's Journal Services I can only order Volume 21 which is marked as in stock but I can't find any information about that issue anywhere else.
From the 26th of May:
So it seems to be getting closer.
I've just written and erased three accounts of why I needed to make an emergency scholarly visit to the local university library, so the heck with it. Let's just say that I did and that it had to do with finalizing the proofs for the next issue of Tolkien Studies. I went yesterday, ....
So it seems to be getting closer.

For what it's worth, I reached out to Duke University Press about two weeks ago asking about purchasing Volume 20 (2023) because only Volume 21 (2024) was listed on the website as available for online purchase, but I knew that Vol. 20 (2023) had not been released yet. This was the response I received from their customer relations person:
"Thank you for your email. This issue is not yet published. The journal is running significantly behind on their publication schedule. If you would like to purchase this issue, the best way would be through a subscription. Right now, the 2024 volume is the one listed on the site, but you can purchase the NYP 2023 volume by calling us at 919-688-5134."
From what I have heard, the WV University Press (which is where TS is actually situated, even though Duke distributes it) got caught up in the disastrous budget cuts at WVU that devastated liberal arts departments last year. Then the editor of the Press left and that just derailed everything for a while. I understand that the final set of proofs have made it back to the editors of TS, but no proofs have gotten to me of the article I have in TS XX.
I have further information. I have been told by one of the TS editors that the printed copies of TS XX should be available in 6-8 weeks, and the pdfs perhaps sooner.

ADDED: https://wvupjournals.dukeupress.edu/tolkien-studies is broken right now, was that it? In case anyone goes looking, it's not yet available on MUSE.
