This is something I picked up in a small bundle (where the only thing I *really* wanted was a GA&U flyer) - Possibly the kind of thing that might interest some people here though (especially those that are into ephemera as I am). Memorial service order of service 17th November 1973. I don't recall seeing one before.
Edit: Wording may have sounded like I'm selling it, but just showing as an "interesting item".

This is indeed a wonderful bit of ephemera. Thanks for sharing, Stu! Very much appreciated seeing this.

I found the time to make some clamshells for Longmans 1966s and Pleasure in Reading 68 and 70 over the last couple of weeks (school holidays and a lot of rain...). Been months since I made anything, but I was pleased with how they turned out. The first Heritage of Literature is a couple of mm shorter as I didn't measure things specifically (just did by eye), but the others are all made to uniform measurements. Still have one near fine Longmans (a 69, IIRC) that is worthy of protection, so one more of these to make for now -- and I'll be glad that is the last of them as one is fun, two is slightly fun, 6 is tedious.
I'm intending to do something for the 1966 1st (16th) impression Unwin Paperback next as those are like hen's teeth and protection feels important.

Wonderful work !
Love the detail about the Longman(s) logo on the spines, and its evolution between the first (1968) and the second (1970) printings.

I really like, it's very nice to see them in the library.

Thanks
Emilien,
Lokki and
Bergelmir. I appreciate the kind words.
Latest is - as planned - one for the 1st 1966 Unwin Paperbacks. As usual, imperfections that I could probably resolve with a second attempt, but good enough.

A mighty fine case for the holy grail :)

Thanks - they do seem to be tricksy little Hobbits to find, that's for sure. I'd love to know why, given the apparent disconnect between their occurrence in the wild and the GA&U records.
