Does anyone else with a WM set notice this issue with printing quality of the text? Specifically around pages 200ish of Fellowship….

Oh wow that’s a shame. The WM LoTR illustrated by the author editions were plagued by this exact same issue. That’s unfortunate to see it again.

Yup, that would be an instant return for me as there is no way my eyes would be able to take that level of blurring. I will be checking my copy vet closely for this.

Wasn’t sure if it’s just mine or they’re all like this. Why is it so difficult for Harper Collins to get their quality control together, it’s a “deluxe” edition for heavens sake.

Ugh, more double-printing. I assume there will be 16 pages like that (I guess these are folded from 16 page sheets)?

My set does not have this double printing…lucky I suppose.

Looking at two different vendors’ sites, I see the WM edition listed as having 140 fewer pages (1,332) than the HC (1,472). Are the WM listings omitting the appendices from their page counts?

Hi all, does anyone know if HC/WM has plans to release matching versions for The Hobbit and The Silmarillion? I mean illustrated by AL and with the same spine/box aesthetics etc?
