Out of interest, who is printing these?
Our copy of the first printing is by CBI Group (UK), Croydon. Sorry, we haven't thought to look at the printer notices of the others. We'll try to do so as we continue our bookshopping.

Sorry, that should have been CPI Group. We were in Piccadilly again today, and rechecked copies of the 4th and 7th printings. Both are also, like the 1st, printed by CPI Group of Croydon.

Thanks for the info -- I assumed you meant CPI, as I couldn't find a CBI printers in the UK (but I could find a CPI). I wonder if they will now be the de-facto UK printer. I believe it is now common knowledge that Clays lost the HarperCollins contract last year (Apparently the Deluxe HoME was the last HarperCollins printing with Clays).
In a previous IT job in the early 1990's, I was sent to Bungay in Suffolk to have a look at a computer problem, can't remember what the problem was, but I was also shown around the customer's premises, Clays.
Fantastic experience and sad that they lost the contract, but quality control issues forced the issue.

More first printings are in the South Kensington Bookshop, near South Ken tube station.

Are these US HM editions new or have I just never seen them?

No, just custom jackets. There is a white version also with essentially the same design.
