If you have the BNF catalogue then these books are the same height, you can see the book next to Letters from Father Christmas and Maker of Middle-earth
Thanks for posting those pics Trotter!
First time poster here (though I’ve been lurking for a few months).
I waffled for maybe 5 minutes over whether or not to buy this, but gave in to temptation and now have one on the way. While at first blush it’s surprising just how quickly this sold out, I’m sure a large number will be resold on the secondary market.
My copy, however, will proudly take its place in my collection.
I need to invest in a pair of white cotton reading gloves! ?

Welcome in. Although you don't need gloves (cotton or otherwise) to handle your books...just clean and dry hands.

The conservators lean toward no gloves. Gloves lead to more physical paper damage, eg torn or abraded paper. Less paper harm from clean, dry hands.
Trotter - looks from your pictures like they shipped with some paper separating each volume, presumably to avoid rubbing. Do you think the tipped-in picture on each cover will hold up? Seems like these books could be "written off" in terms of value pretty easily in terms of accidental damage to that?
