Dale's earlier post on this thread said it was the Times Literary Supplement on 14 September 1973.

That Herald Tribune review of ROTK really is glowing. I rather like how the reviewer uses the exact same phrase "fairy tale for adults" as Jackman does in his scathing review (of FOTR) in Theology. At least they agree on something!
