Well in that case you should avoid me… I have a rating of 920+, over 1500 transactions over the years and a recent negative feedback (only one I have had) took me down from 100% to 96,5%

That saying is hogwash. People should look at number of items sold, read reviews and communicate with sellers.
You might meet dodgy sellers like trotter did.... but that might very well also be one with a 100% positive score. It might even be sellers that have sold hundreds of items and hold 100% scores, but still flip books and still write inaccurate (to be charitable) descriptions of books.

Agreed, the seller rating on eBay doesn't mean all that much, same as with the dealer star rating on ABEbooks (within reason of course, really low number or under 3 stars should raise a red flag).
As northman says reviews and communication are key when working with dealers. If you've got reservations about a dealer reach out to them. You'll know based on responses or lack there of whether they're legitimate or not.

The one negative feedback was left yesterday, can you think of anyone who might have a reason to have left negative feedback for a seller with 100% feedback.

Back again, please report it, looks like the seller's account has been hacked.
