This was listed as a regular auction which ended about a week ago, with a winning bid around $1800 if memory serves, so perhaps the buyer couldn't (or didn't want to) complete. At least I think this was the same seller.
Edit: Actually the item description says so!

It is not 'absurd' if someone buys it, but very expensive and probably put at this price to entice someone to make an offer.
