The publisher has released a host of previously unseen work by Tolkien, who died in 1973, over the last decade, including The Children of Húrin, Beren and Lúthien and The Fall of Gondolin.

It will be great to see truly 'new' content. I should add that some of this will have been seen, just less accessibly.

I like the cover, I hope that continues across the entire jacket. Hopefully we see some pre-orders for a standard edition early next year.

Cover art is beautiful. This will look wonderful on my bookshelf, but at the same time, I will be buying this one mainly for the new content. I'm so hyped and can't wait.

Hm, not sure there would be. After all, there isn't a collector's edition of The History of The Hobbit. You never know, though.

The currently available to pre-order is £60 upwards and I doubt the standard hardcover would have such a high holding price. I know this is assumption on my part but I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of special edition for this release.

Good point, however at this stage I'm sure that price is a placeholder. We don't know the exact publication date yet, either. I'm sure things will make more sense once the publisher announces it (ie, via the Tolkien facebook page or something)
