Never seen so many 'first editions' which aren't actually firsts -

Mind you, the Gandalf figure looks tasty

I love the quote on the Gandalf figure that he no longer has the shipping box, would have been more useful to state the weight of the item.
For serious collectors, probably the rarest Lord of the Rings Sideshow Weta collectables and the only one ever produced in solid Bronze
John Howe is producing, through Weta a limited edition of "Smaug" in bronze this year, at least £2000 cheaper though than the Gandalf bronze above.

Please check my other auctions for other rare Tolkien books. Which include the signed limited edition of this book
No they don't.
Hoo boy - that's a good one!
*thinks - I have several real photos of Tolkien, from a news agency. I wonders how much they might be worth? (rubs hands)

HaHaHa.
"WHO I BELIVE TO BE.. JRR TOLKIEN..
this is only what i belive..
as there are some similarities..!!!"
At least they are honest.
I love their reasoning
"THE BOTTOM OF THE PICTURE DOES SAY (SUFFIELD) WHICH HIS MOTHER WAS MABEL SUFFIELD.."

I found this on eBay today. Is it a new edition of the paperback edition of LoSaG? Or is there another explanation? (Perhaps a pre-publishing cover design?) The seller mentioned '2010' as the publishing year, so it has to be a new edition. I wouldn't have thought that that many copies were sold of the LoSaG...
No matter what it is, I think it is a beautiful design...

I agree it is abeautiful design. For those who don't know, it is Arthur Rackham's illustration (for an English translation of Wagner's Ring Cycle) of Wotan, riding his eight-legged horse, Sleipnir, (you can see multiple legs in the picture) in pursuit of his disobedient daughter Brunnhilde.
Later, in Wagner's version, Brunnhilde will become the lover of Siegfried (Sigurd), himself the grand-child of Wotan.

Wow, it's reduced to £135 ...
